Stoma necrosis: dusky/cyanotic
Stoma Care:
Prevent irritation: soap and water
Appliance: 2-3 mm larger than stoma; change Q 3-5 days/leak
Cystoscopy
Urethra and bladder are visualized
Cystoscope, general anesthesia
Nursing management:
Explain, informed consent
NPO post midnight, cleansing enema
IV fluids/oral fluid before procedure
Position: lithotomy
Assess for back pain/bladder spasm
Sitz bath, analgesics
Urine: pink-tinged
Intravenous Pylelography/Excretory Urogram
X-ray of the pelvis and abdomen
Constrast dye injected
Nursing management
Consent, allergies
Laxative evening before

Warm flushed sensation
