Inhibits topoisomerases I (DNA gyrase) and IV, impairing bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair and recombination. | Treatment for upper and lower respiratory tract infections. | >Hypersensitivity | Dizziness Nausea and vomiting Headache Hypertension Abdominal pain Constipation Allergic reactions | > Drug may be given without regard to meals. > Monitor patient for hypersensitivity reactions. > Monitor bp. > Tell patient to finish entire course of therapy, even if symptoms are relieved. > Warn patient that drug can cause dizziness and light headedness. > Store drug at controlled room temperature. |
